Pasture hike to the Stafell Alm

In mid-May, the weather conditions usually make it possible to access the Stafell Alm on the southern slope of the Hönigspitze Peak, no less then 2000m above sea level. This destination is well worth a visit, remaining so until late autumn.

The starting point for this hike is the Verdines-Talle cable car mountain station. Take the forest path (no. 2) from Oberkirn towards the Grube. In about an hour, you’ll be 550m above sea level and will have reached hiking trail no. 7. In the shady larch forest, the final ascent to your final destination is a comfortable one.

For the return journey, you can descend towards Videgg on path no. 40 (approx. 60 minutes). Once there, the Verdines-Talle cable car mountain station is roughly 50 minutes away.

Tip: The ascent from Oberkirn to the Grube can be made more comfortable by taking the Talle-Grube chair lift, making the Stafell Alm equally accessible to less experienced hikers.
