Panoramic hike from Stafell to Klammeben

Especially on clear summer and autumn days, a hike along the panoramic trail from Stafell to Klammeben is a popular option due to the impressive views. The path runs above the limits of the forest and, therefore, offers limitless views of the mountains surrounding the Merano Valley basin.

The starting point for this hike is the Verdines-Talle cable car mountain station. Use the chair lift to continue the ascent to the Grube so that you can then take path no. 7 through the larch forest towards the Stafell Alm. The route is easy going (140m above sea level) and rewards you with excellent views of the Picco Ivigna massif, Scena’s local mountain.

The hike then bears north, taking the pleasantly flat path no. 40 to Klammeben. The magnificent backdrop of the surrounding mountain world is in constant view.

The return journey to the Verdines-Talle cable car mountain station takes path no. 8 to the Gompm Alm and then on a flat forest path to the mountain village of Prenn. If you take the cable car to Verdines, you only need 20 minutes to get back to Oberkirn from Prenn.

Once you’ve taken the cable car back to Verdines, you can return to Scena or Merano in comfort by taking the bus.
