From Oberkirn to the mountain hamlet of Videgg and back

This easy hike’s destination is the mountain hamlet of Videgg, known for its sunny location and magnificent views of the Picco Ivigna, Scena’s local mountain.

The starting point for this hike is the Verdines-Talle cable car mountain station. The journey takes you south, past the Oberkirn Inn, with the Picco Ivigna always in view. With a pleasant and easy ascent, the path leads through forests and meadows, always offering different perspectives of the Merano Valley basin. This route is suitable for small children and families with pushchairs. The return to the Oberkirn follows the same path.

For those of you who love hiking, the return journey from Videgg to the Oberkirn can take the somewhat higher “Videgger Ridgeway” (path no. 2B), which starts near the Hiaslbauer Inn and takes you up to a flat area, before continuing through the forest to the Verdines-Talle cable car mountain station. When you arrive, you can go back to Verdines using the cable car and take a bus to Scena or Merano.

Mountain bike enthusiasts also love this route, as they can also take a forest path (path no. 19) back to Verdines.
